Americans, how did you feel about that Iraqi throwing his shoes at your President?

As an Australian, i'm interested to know if Americans are fiercely patriotic & would take that gesture as an ault on them & their country, or is Bush just so unpopular that you would have preferred the shoe hit its target? Just curious...
