Well I am really short, only 5 feet tall and I find 10 inch boots to be a good height, hitting around mid calf. So if I were you I would get 12 inches since they would go up a decent way. If you follow the link below, on my question there is a link to a pair of BearPaw boots from Shoecity.com. Take a look at that website because they have some pretty cheap bearpaw boots and it seems pretty secure.
